The Ostrich Capital of the World, Oudtshoorn, SA.Fortunes were made here at the turn of the 20th century from ostrich feathers, now the birds are mostly breed for meat and leather.

A goal for John, climbing the highest peak in the Eastern Cape, SA.At 2502m, Compassberg, can be climbed in 2 1/2 hours.

The end of the road for our rental car, from here we must walk.This adds about 2 hours to our hike. True 4x4's can continue another few km before the climb begins.
